Shannon Prebil, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist at Nourish Your Mind

Meet Shannon Dávila - M.A., LMFT

Hello! My name is Shannon, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and the owner of Nourish Your Mind. I’m so grateful you’ve found your way here and are considering the support our practice can offer. Reaching out for therapy is a meaningful step, and I’m honored to be part of that journey with you.

My path to becoming a therapist began with earning a Bachelor of Science in Clinical Psychology from Saint Mary’s College of California, followed by a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University. Early in my career I became an OCD and Anxiety Specialist, where I discovered a deep passion for supporting individuals in this population. I’ve additionally gained experience helping individuals navigate eating disorders, body image challenges, depression, trauma, family conflict, life transitions, relationship issues, self-esteem concerns, and general stress.

My work as a therapist is centered on helping individuals build a healthier relationship with their emotions and develop skills that support a more balanced and fulfilling quality of life. I enjoy encouraging clients to explore new perspectives and reframe unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors. I strive to help individuals repair their relationship with their bodies and advocate for health at every size. I consistently check in with my clients to meet them where they are at and adjust treatment as needed, with the intention of building trust, fostering collaboration, and setting realistic goals at their pace.

My approach is rooted in creating a therapeutic environment where clients feel safe to share openly. I utilize evidence-based techniques to explore challenges that may interfere with daily life and provide manageable tools clients can use to practice outside of session. Clients can expect someone who is warm, inviting, and genuinely curious about understanding their experiences. Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy going on adventures with my husband and toddler, staying active through dance and movement, visiting the beach or mountains, and spending time at Disneyland.

I am very much looking forward to connecting with you, and helping you learn lifelong tools to nourish your mind!
